Behind the flutter…

shoesies.JPG

After a while you learn the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love does not mean leaning and
company does not mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses are not contracts
and presents are not promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up
and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today because
tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure ..
That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.

Veronica A. Shoffstall

One of my favorite poems…and it’s true….things I have learnt and continue to learn along the way I guess. Nobody said life was easy, but does it really have to bite so hard?

I am a confused, smiley twenty-something spirit. I’m not too sure what I want to do with myself, I like the smaller things in life….butterflies, babies smiling, taking pictures of my toes, listening to good music as I walk in the rain. It’s all about the little things.

  4. Hi Kipepeo,

You’ve gone silent! I hope all is well in your world. Maybe what I am about to tell you will prompt you into writing a post or two. I hope so – I miss your words.

I recently got “prized” the Honest Scrap Award from another blogger, and after doing a number of things, I needed to pass the award on to at least 7 bloggers whose blogs I thought had brilliant content or design. You came to mind for you hauntingly, poignant posts full of emotion.

Check out this post on my blog and then please do me the honors. I look forward to reading more from you soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
    Biche
